May Day -- Up the Revolution -- Solidarity with the Workers
There is a revolution happening -- its a slow wheel within a wheel
today its power to the people day --- MAY DAY -- no great
marches by powerful countries --showing off their muscle
-- when I was a child we danced around the Maypole at a
fete held in Muncaster Castle and the rhododendrons
would be in coming into flower -- sack races --climbing
the wall of the castle -- the most wonderful part was the
dance around the Maypole with its red and white ribbons
Today is remembering those who fought and died so we can have
our civil rights our human dignity --
I want to remember my god-father Lord Ennerdale, a tough and sweet
man -- who fought all his life for the rights of others and made
fundamental changes that improved all our lives -- thank you --
Jack --
My grandfather Hugh Cecil, Lord Lowther, as a human rights
activist -- in his time he did what he thought was the right thing
to do -- there was a no title of activist it was "Noblesse oblige"
