St.Bees
The place I spent my summers as a child
on the golden sand -- it was much wilder
and the sand dunes and grasses were less
kept at that time --the country was recovering
from W.W.II -- below the cliffs was a big
natural rock pool where we swam when the
tide was out -- glorious glorious summers
picnics on the sand after running over the
pebbles -- sometimes we would walk from
Whitehaven around St. Bees Head to the beach
about three miles --jumping from rock to rock
