Yesterday I spent too much time at the laundry -- I have
a great aversion to the washerteria but its a necessary
task -- at the last moment before leaving the house, I
grabbed a pillow -- why not! Well everything why not!
-- it turned out to be my undoing, because the pillow
burst and it was full of feathers -- I opened the door to
the washer as the attendant passed by -- she was wearing
bright yellow rubber gloves up to her elbows a red &
white shirt and a green surgical mask over her mouth!

I heard her muffled "What did you wash -- a chicken?

Who wouldn't laugh! Everything was thick with feathers
and a layer of pale yellow stuff that looked like corn meal
and I had to clean out the washer and sweep the feathers
up -- I dragged the load back up to the house to wash in the tub --
so now the bathroom is decorated with feathers --

and now another trip to rewash -- Cindy Adams would say
only in New York kids!

Our landlord has been fixing the water in our building for
the past two months and we have been in a drought from
11.am. 'til about 5. Its important to remember to fill the
kettle for a cup of tea!

What about all the water we use -- which is a question in my
mind and we are in the middle of the United Nation's Decade of Water
I was involved in the skirmish when Vivendi was given the
rights to "our" water to build a water treatment plant in New York
with thanks to our former Mayor -- Gulliani --
and I found this article by Bill Moyers -- water is another great
issue as the climate changes -- George Bush is an oil man right?

His brother with a consortium bought the largest aquifer in
South America -- as soon as the Iraq Government signs into
law the Hydrocarbon bill -- we will be out of there and on
our way home -- so big biz has a hold on oil and now they are
moving in on the aqua, and so it goes, as we sleep -- we have
allowed big biz to steal our "commons."

If the corporation's paid rent for the airwaves they use for their
business we would all be able to live a very nice life --
the airwaves belong to the people --if you did not know!
