We are asking for your help in supporting Aung San Suu Kyi, the leader of Burma’s democracy movement and the world’s only imprisoned Nobel Peace Prize recipient. Often called “Burma’s Gandhi” or “Burma’s Nelson Mandela “, Aung San Suu Kyi has been nominated for the Congressional Gold Medal — the most prestigious award given by the US government.
The United States House of Representatives already voted 400-0 to grant her the award, and now it is time for the US Senate to take action. Two-thirds of the Senate need to support the measure in order for it to pass.
