I am writing a letter to Nancy Pelosi & b.boxer
about the climate and about the bees.
I was looking for the quote about bees of Einstein
and found these.
"He who joyfully marches to music rank and file,
has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain
by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.
This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once.
Heroism at command, how violently I hate all this, how despicable
and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part
of so base an action. It is my conviction that killing under the cloak
of war is nothing but an act of murder."
"A human being is a part of a whole, called by us _universe_, a part
limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and
feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical
delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us,
restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons
nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by
widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and
the whole of nature in its beauty."
"Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can
be counted counts." (Sign hanging in Einstein's office at Princeton)

but no bee quote -- I am off on a forage -- looking for honey !
and Albert!
Albert Einstein
"If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would
only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination,
no more plants, no more animals, no more man."

So, fiddly doing all these "hot links" so I was writing a letter
to those two ladies! I am very impressed by the work of these two
women and I loved the way the press had to back peddle about the msg
to Syria -- I found a wonderful group of articles on bees open
source --I read one about beekeepers in the Yemen -- but its dense
what fun -- its a little mini-library on bees and people who keep them

So, are we counting yet!
